The Assistant Engineer's Office is responsible for spearheading the technical execution of various development initiatives and public works within the Chalavara Grama Panchayat. Its primary duties include the technical assessment, preparation of estimates, supervision, and quality control of infrastructure projects—such as roads, buildings, drinking water schemes, and drainage systems.
This office plays a pivotal role in providing the necessary technical support to ensure that development activities in the Panchayat are implemented transparently, to a high standard of quality, and within the stipulated timeframes.

📋 Building construction permit
Construction plans for residential houses, commercial buildings, and the like are examined in accordance with KPBR norms, and the necessary approvals are granted.
🏠 Completion inspection
Occupancy certificate is issued after inspecting the completed buildings and ensuring compliance with the norms.
🚫 Action against illegal construction
Constructions violating existing building regulations are being identified, and necessary legal actions are being taken.
🛣️ Public Works Activities
🛤️ Maintenance of roads, bridges, etc.
Provides technical supervision for the construction, renovation, and maintenance of roads, culverts, and bridges within the panchayat's jurisdiction.
🏢 Maintenance of public buildings
It coordinates the construction and maintenance activities of public institutions such as Anganwadis, health centers, schools, and Panchayat offices.
📐 Project Implementation and Technical Services
📄 Preparation of estimate
Technical estimates are being prepared for various development works included in the Panchayat's annual plan.
✅ Technical Approval and Document Preservation
It issues the necessary technical sanctions for various works and maintains technical records, including the M-Book.
👷 Technical supervision of the employment guarantee scheme
Provides the necessary technical supervision and guidance for infrastructure development works implemented under the MGNREGS scheme.

🚰 Drinking Water Projects
Technical assistance is provided for the construction and maintenance of small-scale drinking water projects within the panchayat's jurisdiction.

Technical assessments of damages caused by natural disasters are conducted, and the necessary reports are prepared.
🌳 Hazardous buildings and trees
Technical reports are provided recommending necessary safety measures after inspecting structures such as buildings and trees that are in a hazardous condition.
